Emporiki Bank Romania, former Commercial Bank of Greece (Romania), had the official opening of its operations in September 1999, being a wholly owned subsidiary of Emporiki Bank Greece. Following its mother-company decision to create a new corporate identity, the Bank changed its name by the end of year 2003 into Emporiki Bank - Romania S.A.

In present, Emporiki Bank Romania has 30 branches in Bucharest and all over the country.
