Ameriabank is one of the oldest banks of Armenia, created in 1910 as a branch of Caucasian Trade bank, which has been transformed to USSR Vnesheconombank's Armenian branch, during years of Soviet. The Bank was the unique one in the republic to provide external commercial operations to the economical units.
In July 1992 was founded "Armenian Import-Export Bank" closed joint stock company (CJSC "Armimpexbank"), and on September 8th of the same year the bank obtained a license from the Central bank of RA, for an expansion of banking activity.
In April of 1995, the majority of shares of the bank were taken up by a foreign investor, who doubed the capital of the bank signing under newly allotted shares of the bank, at the beginning of 2000.
In August of 2007 the main share holdings of bank – 96% was obtained by "TDA Holdings Limited", an investment company affiliated to the leading Russian investment bank – Troika Dialog, with operational turnover surpassing $160 billion in 2007.
Thus, the foreign participation over the capital of the bank at this stage is approximately 96%. The bank overcomes the minimum limit of the capital, fixed by the central bank of RA, which is $8 million.
In June of 2008 the bank changed its name to Ameriabank CJSC.
Being one of the most reliable and stable banks a in the banking system of RA, Ameriabank is continuing to be loyal to its work policy with individual and corporate clients. In the same time, the bank is providing electronic banking services to a larger segment of the population.
