- ATM
Automated teller machine
- CANCEL (COMMAND KEY)
This command key allows the user to annul a transaction that has not yet been confirmed by using the Enter command key. If the PED does not have a Clear command key, the Cancel key will either cancel the entire transaction, or cancel the operation in progress.
- CLEAR (COMMAND KEY)
This command key allows the user to erase an alphanumeric entry that has not yet been confirmed by using the Enter command key.
- ENTER (COMMAND KEY)
This command key allows the user to confirm the current alphanumeric input as correct and complete.
- MINUS (FUNCTION KEY)
This function key allows the user decrease a predetermined operation parameter. Decreased parameters are application dependent, for example, the loudness of voice guidance information or the amount to withdraw.
- PIN ENTRY ALPHANUMERIC KEY
PIN entry alphanumeric keys are the PIN entry device keys used to input PIN digits or letters. Depending on the application, these keys can also be used for other input, for example, the input of the amount to be withdrawn.
- PIN ENTRY COMMAND KEY
PIN entry command keys are PIN entry keys used to perform specific functions, for example, to confirm the data entered.
- PIN ENTRY DEVICE (PED)
Device into which the cardholder inputs the PIN. A PIN entry device may also be called a PIN pad.
- PIN ENTRY DEVICE (PED) KEYBOARD
A PIN entry device (PED) keyboard is a keypad with an arrangement of numeric, command and, where required, function and/or alphanumeric keys laid out in a specific manner.
- PLUS (FUNCTION KEY)
This function key allows the user to increase a predetermined operation parameter. Increased parameters are application dependent, for example, the loudness of voice guidance information and the amount to withdraw.
- POS
Point of sale (as used in ISO 9564-1) or point of service (as used in EMV2000 and in ISO 8583).
- TACTILE SYMBOL
Tactile symbols are symbols used on the PIN entry device to allow the tactile identification of some keys. Each symbol shall be embossed directly on top of the key it identifies and will have a unique and logical design that helps key identification. |
