The Münchener Hypothekenbank – abbreviated MünchenerHyp – was founded in 1896 as the "Bayerische Landwirthschaftsbank" and at that time was supported by the cooperative sector as well as by the Royal Bavarian government. It is the only mortgage bank in the world doing business in the legal form of a registered cooperative.
