Hypotecni banka, a.s.

Beginning January 1, 2005, they began working under a new brand, Hypotecni banka, and a new logo. Up through December 31, 2005 they used the business name "Ceskomoravska hypotecni banka, a.s.", effective January 1, 2006 the bank was renamed to "Hypotecni banka, a.s.".

The bank was established on January 10, 1991, originally as a universal bank of a regional character. In September 1995 they were authorised to issue mortgage debentures, thus becoming the first bank specialised only in mortgage loans in the Czech Republic. Since June 2000 the majority shareholder has been Československá obchodní banka, a.s. (ČSOB) through whom they are incorporated into the strong ČSOB Financial Group.

They promote the so-called multibrand strategy and thus they offer mortgage loans both under their brand (Hypoteční banka) and in their business network and prepare mortgage loans for their parent, ČSOB, Postal Savings Bank (Poštovní spořitelna) and Citibank. Everything indicates that they have set out in the right direction and that is why they plan to enlarge co-operation with other partners.
