Calyon Bank

Since opening its first office in Prague in 1991, Calyon has implemented a strategy of corporate wholesale banking and attracted a rapidly growing number of corporate customers, both large domestic and international companies active in this new member state of the European Union (May 1st, 2004).

This strategy has proved to be successful as the bank has achieved a sound position in the Czech financial market and ranks among the top foreign banks. Calyon has been concentrating on prime level customer service, continuously expanding its scope and range of services and answering the needs of its clients.

The capital markets team provides support for our clients' management of financial exposures by offering a broad range of either mature, or new, and innovative products such as:

  • plain vanilla FX (spot, forward, FX options) and MM (deposits, T-bills, repos) products,
  • FX options strategies and alternative forwards (participator, convertible, extendable, enhancer),
  • structured deposits (enhanced yield, range accrual, no-touch, min-max),
  • promissory notes,
  • interest rates products (FRA, IRS, CCIRS, IR options incl. caps, floors, collars, etc., IR swaptions),
  • structured products including hedging techniques, credit linked notes, total return swaps,

Calyon was among the first banks to offer electronic banking services in Central and Eastern Europe. Today, references include more than 600 large corporates throughout the region, with 50-90% of payments processed by the bank arriving in an electronic form (varying per country).

The local Calyon Specialized Finance division offers a broad combination of structured finance and investment banking products and services to meet the specialized requirements of its customers, from accessing the capital markets to preparing for expansion through acquisition.
